The museum is housed in the Old Grammar School Building in the village of Heptonstall. You can see displays about the history of the village from prehistoric times to the present day. You can find out about the infamous Cragg Vale Coiners and Heptonstall's part in the English Civil War. There are also temporary exhibitions.
Other places to visit in Heptonstall include the 16th century Cloth Hall, the ruined 13th century church, the Weavers┐ Square and the Methodist Church.
Events are held throughout the year. These include the Pace Egg celebrations at Easter. You can find out about these on the website.

Access to the museum is via external steps and traditional uneven stone surfaces. Parking is limited in Heptonstall.
