Shibden Hall was owned by the Lister family for over 300 years. The earliest part of the house dates back to 1420. The Hall displays 17th and 18th century oak furniture and other household objects in period room settings. There is a charge for entry to the Hall. A free audio guide is available from reception. The upper floor is not accessible for wheelchair users.

The Folk Museum preserves examples of traditional trades and crafts from the local area. It is housed in a 17th century barn.

The grounds of Shibden Hall are a public park. The park includes a boating lake, pitch and putt, a miniature railway and a playground. Entry to the park is free. You can follow way marked trails around the park, and an orienteering course through the woodlands and hillside.

Events are held throughout the year. You can find out about these on the website.

There is a cafe at Shibden Hall and at Shibden Mereside Visitor Centre. The Hall and the Visitor Centre both have toilets, including disabled and baby changing facilities.

There are several public car parks. If you have restricted mobility, the lower car park provides the easiest access to the Hall, via a sloped pathway to the main gateway. There are steep steps at the main entrance. Please ring the bell to gain entry via the courtyard instead.
