Bankfield Museum is housed in a Victorian mansion, set within Ackroyd Park. The museum is well known as a centre for textiles and contemporary crafts. You can see: World of Textiles Gallery; Toy Gallery; Costume Gallery; Duke of Wellington's Regiment Museum; temporary exhibitions.
A community exhibition space is available to hire. If you are part of a community art group or project, you can use this space to display your work.
If you are part of a group, you can book a special tour of the museum. Events are held throughout the year. You can find details on the website.
The museum offers trails and quizzes for children; a gift shop; a coffee machine; and access to the local library.
You can volunteer at the museum. If you are researching local history or want to find out more about the collections, museum staff can help you.
Parking (including for disabled people) is available. There is level access to the ground floor only.
