Web: See external link policy

This scheme allows people to leave their pet in the care of the local branch of the RSPCA after their death. The scheme can also help people who move into a care home or become unable to look after their pet.

Joining the scheme is free. You need to leave clear instructions in your will confirming that you would like your pet to be looked after by the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield and District Branch. If you wish to contribute towards the costs, you can make a gift to the RSPCA branch in your will.

Your pet will be cared for at the Animal Centre until it can be rehomed with a new owner. If your pet is over ten years old, it will be offered for adoption under the Elderly Animals Rehoming Scheme.
