Full description:
Barn and attached cowhouse now used for storage. Barn dated '1780 WH' but probably late C17; cowhouse probably early C18. Coursed squared stone, stone slate roofs. 3-bay barn with lower 3-bay cowhouse set back on right. Barn: quoins. Central quoined segmental arched cart entry, one of the right hand quoins dated on the inside. Chamfered rectangular vents to either side. Quoined mistal doorway to left end with triangular cut-out to lintel. Pent-roofed addition on left not of special interest. Cowhouse has chamfered quoined doorway with renewed lintel on left, chamfered rectangular vents and one plain vent. Rear: barn has a central chamfered quoined doorway flanked by chamfered rectangular vents and an inserted narrow mistal doorway on right. Left return: ground-floor opening, rectangular vents above and arched vent in gable, all chamfered; other square vents. Interior: barn: in left end are stalls for 6 cows with floor above and recess in left wall (probably for a lamp); blocked pitching door in right gable; C19 fishbone king-post roof trusses with reused purlins and rafters.
