The Entrance Gateway and Lodge to Burial Ground together with Nos. 23 to 51 (odd) form part of Akroyden, a model village begun by Col Akroyd in about 1851 to the designs of Sir G G Scott, but never completed. Mid C19. Terrace of 5 stone houses. Gothic. 2 main storeys plus another in steep slated roof with gable at either end and hipped stone dormers. Paired and triple sash windows set under blind, traceried heads to ground storey. Arched doorways. (The Entrance Gateway and Lodge to Burial Ground together with Nos. 23 to 51 (odd) form a group).
