Linden Brook, as well as being a Short Breaks provision for children with disabilities age 4-17 years. A residential service that provides respite and family support and is part of Calderdale Councils Children's Residential Service. We offer a safe and caring place, that will find ways to support every individual in all aspects of their lives to inspire children and young people to achieve and best prepare for their futures. We provide an environment where children and young people can communicate openly and honestly without fear of judgment. We believe every child and young person has the right to be cared for and to live in an open and honest home. They should feel safe and be allowed to achieve. All children and young people should feel like an individual with their own personal needs, to achieve an open and honest culture within a diverse society. We offer support and ways to find meaningful outcomes to achieve best results. We believe that Linden Brook provides an open and honest culture to break down barriers and enable progress. For children and young people to be able to achieve at Linden Brook, we as a team, role model behaviour which represents openness, honesty and trust. We achieve this through encouraging two way communication. All children and young people have the right to be loved and protected and feel good about themselves. Children cared for within Calderdale Residential Services and Short Breaks will experience care based upon a range of principles and values using the following theoretical models and frameworks, all of which are evidenced as good practice. Children aged 4 to 17 years on admission, discharged at the age of 18 years.
