MyJourney: West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan 2011-26

The third Local Transport Plan (LTP) for West Yorkshire was adopted on 1st April 2011 and sets out a 15-year strategy for transport improvements across the region. The plan has been prepared in partnership with the West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority (Metro) and the District Councils of Bradford, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield. It has been developed through widespread consultation with the people of West Yorkshire and has three main objectives:
- Economy - to improve connectivity to support economic activity and growth in West Yorkshire and the Leeds City region;
- Low Carbon - to make substantial progress towards a low carbon, sustainable transport system for West Yorkshire;
- Quality of Life - to enhance the quality of life of people living in, working in and visiting West Yorkshire.
The Local Transport Plan strategy will be delivered through a series of 3-year implementation plans. The LTP Calderdale District Implementation Plan 2011-14 [PDF file 1495KB]|
interprets the strategy within the local context and sets out a programme of transport schemes and initiatives that Calderdale Council aims to deliver over the first three years.
