Advertising on car parks
Unauthorised advertising in Council car parks is not allowed. This includes flyers left on vehicles and posters on 'pay and display' machines. It is annoying for most people and the Council takes a hard line on this.
If you see advertising in car parks which you suspect is unauthorised or you receive flyers on your vehicle you should report it to Parking Services who will investigate and may prosecute the advertiser.
Community Safety
Action planning teams are responsible for working towards meeting the aims of the Crime and Disorder Strategy. There are five teams and they each cover a geographical area of Calderdale.
The teams adopt a multi-agency approach and are also encouraged to contact local community groups and work closely with them tackling issues surrounding crime and disorder. The teams focus on issues that are their main concern in their area whilst still aiming to work towards the main themes in the Crime and Disorder Strategy such as fear of crime, vehicle crime and so on.
Fly tipping / dumping of rubbish
Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of rubbish. If you see rubbish being dumped on a car park or highway the Council will investigate and have it removed. Fly tipping is dealt with by Council Enforcement officers and fines of up to £2500 could be given to offenders.

Requests for use of car parks
If you need to use a Council car park for an event or special circumstance you should contact Parking Services for permission. Using spaces in a car park for storage, activity or any other purpose other than parking a vehicle is not allowed.
