Young people

Health care and advice for young people.

Substance misuse

Young people in Calderdale who are involved with the misuse of drugs or alcohol can go to Lifeline Branching Out for help.

Teenage pregnancy

All Calderdale secondary schools run a programme to develop young people's awareness of relationships, contraception and sexual health. Services are in place to support young parents in continuing their education and training.

Weight management

Have fun and make new friends at a local Upbeat Kids Club, while you learn to eat sensibly, exercise more and lose weight.

Young carers

Young carers are children and young people who are the main carers of a sick or disabled parent or sibling.

Young offenders

Calderdale Youth Offending Team has responsibility for dealing with young people under the age of 18 who have been in trouble with the law, or are at risk of offending.

Youth Fax

At the age of 15 years, many of you will face important decisions regarding your future - decisions about education, work or related to your social and personal lives. Youth Fax will help you with the basic facts and point you in the right direction if you need more information or specialised help.

Youth Works

Youth Works offers detached youth work, intensive support and referral services to young people aged 11-25 in Halifax town centre and other areas through a highly skilled team of specialist detached youth workers.
