Community care covers most of the social care services that you may require to live independently and safely in your own home. Depending on your eligibility, the Council may be able to arrange and charge you for these services.
Heatherstones Court is a new service for Calderdale. It has 12 apartments which are designed to provide the time and space for you to adjust after being in hospital. It can also offer you - for a short period - the help and support which you need but cannot receive at home.
If you need special help with personal, domestic or other care needs in your own home then you may wish to purchase services other than those you may be eligible for help from Adults, Health and Social Care.

Studies have shown that there are increased levels of stress, ill health and mental health problems in those people who undertake a caring role. Carers and the "cared for" can benefit from day respite or residential respite.
