Safeguards
- All of our staff carry identification badges always ask to see these.
- All staff are subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.
- They are trained in all of the duties that they are expected to cover. Adults, Health and Social Care has 89% of its Home Care Assistants qualified in NVQ 2, Health and Social Care.
- Home Care Managers are registered with the Care Quality Commission|
, and there are regular inspections.
Records
A file will be kept in your home for as long as you receive Home Care Services, this is to help you and the staff. The file will include:
- Home Care Care Plan
- Care Plan from the Social Care Assessor
- Risk assessment
- Manual handling assessment
- Medication chart
- Financial transaction sheet
- Contact numbers
- Communication sheet
- Daily food temperature records
- and other information.
Home Care staff will complete and sign the communication sheet on each visit.
Smoking
Calderdale has a no smoking policy. Home Care staff must not smoke in your home. We also ask that if you do smoke you should refrain from smoking one hour before the staff attend your home and while they are working within your home.
