Home care services

Introduction

After a Community Care Assessment has taken place and your requirements for Home Care Services have been identified, the request is passed to the Home Care Brokerage Team. The Brokerage Team will then make contact with the Social Services Home Care staff and the external providers of home care, with whom the Council has contracts, in order to provide the best care that we can on your behalf and to a quality standard.

Whoever provides your care, the tasks you have been assessed for will be carried out as specified on your care plan. It may be necessary at times to change your provider, we realise this can be upsetting and we will give you notice that this is going to happen, to try wherever possible to make this as easy as possible for you.

The Home Care Teams may include women and men from all sections of the community.

Caring for Home Care Staff

You can expect our Home Care Staff to treat you respectfully at all times. In return we ask that you treat our staff with the same respect.

Payment for the service

You will be given this information at the time of your assessment by your Social Care Assessor.
