Toy Library
Did you know about this exciting service available to all registered childcare providers?
National and local funding has been brought together on this initiative, which is the result of over two years of work by:
- Calderdale's Family Services Team
- Calderdale Libraries
- Sure Start Elland and West Central Halifax local programmes
- Calderdale Museums and Galleries
- Pre-School Learning Alliance
- Pennine Magpie Scrap for Play.
Membership
Toys are available for hire to all registered Calderdale childcare providers including Childminders, Private Day Nurseries, Playgroups, Out of School Clubs and Holiday Schemes. There are over 300 toys in stock including a range of high quality outdoor play toys, puzzles, games, special educational toys, dressing up clothes and more.
To become a member of the Toy Library a registered childcare provider will need to hold a Pre-School library ticket available from any Calderdale Library. They can then order toys from six libraries located across Calderdale and pick them up the next week. The toys are kept for three weeks and the children in the childcare setting will enjoy a range of educational and play resources that may not have been available in the past.
