Adoption

Introduction

Adoption is a way for children who cannot live with their birth parents or other members of their extended family to become part of another family. It is a legal process and a life long commitment.

More people than you may think can adopt a child. We do not discriminate on the grounds of class, race, culture, sexual orientation or disability.

Adoption is a legal process by which the rights and responsibilities of a child's natural parents are transferred to the adoptive parents by a court.

In Calderdale we need new families for all sorts of children in particular groups of brothers and sisters and older children.

Adoptive parents can be married or single and from all walks of life.
