About the Supporting People scheme
The vision of Calderdale Supporting People ( SP) is “To provide high quality housing support services, to give people in Calderdale the opportunity to live independently”.
The Supporting People Team manages a grant allocation of over £6m per year. This grant covers 46 contracts with 28 organisations providing housing related support, to over 3000 clients.
The team carry out a rolling programme of scheme reviews to ensure that the quality of the services provided is of a high standard and offers value for money. The team also seeks to identify gaps in support provision and to commission new services.
A five year Supporting People Strategy was published in March 2005. This report established the aims and objectives of the SP programme and mapped out the strategic priorities for the development of the supported housing sector in Calderdale.
