Disabled (blue) badge holders
Applying for a blue badge
Parking Badges (also known as Blue Parking Badges) are only for people with permanent, substantial disabilities. If you have a temporary disability - such as a broken leg - you would not qualify for a badge. Badges are issued only to people who would otherwise find it impossible to visit shops, public buildings or other places, and to drivers who cannot turn the steering wheel of a vehicle by hand, even when the wheel is fitted with a turning knob.
To apply for a badge, you can print off a copy of the form: Application form for a blue badge [PDF file 306KB]|![]()
Be sure to follow these guidelines to find out whether you are eligible for a Blue Parking Badge, including proof of address and identity: Proof of address, identity and eligibility for a Blue Badge [PDF file 25KB]|![]()
Additionally, it is important that the photograph included with your application meets these requirements: Photograph requirements for a Blue Badge application [PDF file 91KB]|
