Map layer selector
The map layer selector enables you to select various pieces of information to display on the map. The first step is to select a base map, which shows the fundamental information, on top of which lies the council's data. (The default base map will automatically be selected). The base map needs to be changed if you wish to view aerial photography, geology or historical maps as the background.
Other layers can be added by clicking the relevant boxes, up to a maximum of five layers.
Change displayed layers
Layers that have been selected from the Map Layer Selector can be taken out of the map window by de-selecting the relevant layer. Use the left-hand mouse button to select the layer you would like to turn off. Click over the tick, and the layer will become de-selected. Click on the 'Change' button for the map to be updated.
The 'reset' button reverts any selections that you have made.
