Hire charges
Civil ceremonies
Clay House is licenced for civil ceremonies. For these there is a minimum hire charge for the first two hours.
- Mondays - Thursdays this is £228
- Fridays - Sundays it is £260.
Further hours are at the appropriate hourly rate.

Hourly rates
We charge ½ an hour set up / clearance time if your event finishes before 9pm or 1hour if it finishes after 9pm. There is an administration charge of £1.15per contract.

Note:
- Bookings are in blocks of ½ an hour. There is a minimum hire of 2 hours per booking plus clearance.
- Set up time is charged at the given rate, to a maximum of 3 hours per booking.
- Additional hours not on the contract will be charged after the event at 1½ times the original rate.
- VAT does not apply unless stated.
Discounted rates
Discounted rates will be charged to hirers who:
- book 6 or more events per year, regularly spaced throughout the year eg. weekly, monthly meetings
- book the venue for more than 1 day, consecutively.
A discount of 20% of the hourly rates will apply. All other charges will be in full.
Staffing
A member of staff is included in the hall hire.
Extra members of staff will be needed for some events, including all 18th and 21st birthday celebrations. Any such staff are controlled by the Hall Supervisor but are charged to the hirer.
Staff charges
- Weekdays: £10.62 per hour, including VAT
- Saturdays: £14.85 per hour, including VAT
- Sundays, Bank Holidays: £21.22 per hour, including VAT.
