  • Sunday 11th January; Hebden Bridge and District International Group New Year Lunch at the Coiners Restaurant, Dusty Miller.
  • Sunday 11th January; Calderdale Strakonice Twinning Association's New Year walk.
  • Wednesday 28th January at 7.30pm;  "A Trip to Nepal" by Morton Roberts.
February
  • Friday 6th February at 7.30pm; Elland Riorges Association American Evening at Blackley Cricket Club. £5 including supper.
  • Wednesday 25th February at 7.30pm; Halifax Aachen Society talk about Maud Lewis by Tricia Atkinson.
March
  • Monday 9th March; Elland Riorges Association general meeting with a representative from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity.
  • Saturday 21st March from 10am to 12 noon; Elland Riorges Association coffee morning £2.
  • Wednesday 25th March at 7.30pm; Halifax Aachen Society talk "A Lifetime Achievement" by Ernest Jennings.
April
  • Sunday 5th April 12 noon; Elland Riorges Association annual buffet lunch at Blackley Cricket Club. £6.50 for adults, £3.50 for 15 year olds and under.
  • Friday 10th April; Incoming exchange visit from Luedenscheid to Brighouse, organised by the Brighouse Luedenscheid Twinning Association. If you would like to host a family from Luedenscheid, please call 01484 536796 for more information.
  • Saturday 25th April 7.30 for 8.00; Elland Riorges Association French themed evening.
  • Wednesday 29th April at 7.30pm; Halifax Aachen Society "Tortoises" talk by David Bell.
May
  • Wednesday 13th May; Elland Riorges Association general meeting. Speaker to be announced.
  • Sunday 17th May; Halifax Aachen Society Sunday Lunch at The Maurice Jagger Center at 12.30.
  • Wednesday 27th May; "Aachen" a Powerpoint presentation by Margaret Barnes.
  • Friday 29th May 11am to 4pm; Neighbours' Day in The Piece Hall with guest attendance by the Mayor of Aachen in honour of the 60th anniversary of friendship between Halifax and Aachen.
June
  • Saturday 13th June; Elland Riorges Association Safari Supper. More details to follow.
  • Wednesday 24th June; Halifax Aachen Society conducted tour of Shibden Park Gardens.
  • Friday 26th June; Incoming exchange visit from Bramsche, Todmorden's German twin town.
July
  • Saturday 4th to Sunday 5th July; Hebden Bridge's twin towns of St Pol and Warstein celebrate 45 years of twinning.
  • Wednesday 6th July; Elland Riorges general meeting with cheese and wine.
  • Mid to end July; Elland Riorges young person's exchange visit to Riorges. Dates to be confirmed.
  • Wednesday 15th July; Halifax Aachen Society Social. More information to follow.
  • Sunday 19th to Sunday 26th July; Halifax Aachen Society's incoming visit from Aachen to celebrate the 30th anniversary of twinning and 60th anniversary of friendship between the towns.
August
  • Satuday 1st to Saturday 8th August; Elland Riorges Association incoming exchange visit. Adults from Riorges will visit Elland this week.
  • Sunday 23rd August; Elland Riorges Association Cream Tea. More details to follow.
  • Wednesday 26th August at 7.30; Halifax Aachen Society "Memories Evening" by Society members.
September
  • Wednesday 9th September at 7pm Elland Riorges Association AGM at the Brooksbank School, Elland
  • Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September Hebden Bridge and District International Group visit St Pol for the 30th anniversary of the twinning.
  • Wednesday 30th September at 7.30pm; Halifax Aachen Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) and supper.
October
  • Wednesday 28th October at 7.30pm; Halifax Aachen Society talk entitled "Success is Over-Rated" by Clodagh Tweedale.

Friday 21st MarchAnnual Dinner Dance, organised by the Calderdale Mayo Twin Links Society .
An evening of Irish entertainment at Berties Banqueting Rooms in Elland.
Tickets cost £30, with profits going to local charities, including Overgate Hospice.
Saturday 22nd to Saturday 29th MarchBrighouse Luedenscheid Society visit to Luedenscheid.
15 members of the Society will be spending Easter with their hosts in Luedenscheid. To find out how to join them on future visits see Brighouse Luedenscheid Society.
Thursday 1st MayCharlesmagne Prize|External link Award Ceremony in Aachen.
The International Charlesmagne Prize Award of Aachen is a citizen's prize for services to European unity. Representatives of the Halifax Aachen Society attend this annual event which takes place on Ascension Day.
Wednesday 7th to Sunday 11th MayWarstein and St Pol visit to Hebden Bridge.
The Hebden Bridge and District International Group will be hosting visitors from Warstein and St Pol. The theme of the programme will based on the history of textiles and related immigration in the area.
Friday 23rd to Saturday 31st MayBramsche celebrates its 30th anniversary of twinning with Todmorden.
Todmorden Town Twinning Association will be taking a group of young musicians from Calderdale to perform in a joint concert with youngsters from Bramsche and its Polish twin town of Biscupiec. The programme of events for the week will include civic receptions from the Mayors of Bramsche and Osnabruck and a series of workshops to help their new Polish friends build their own town twinning association.
Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th MayRiorges celebrates its 30th anniversary of twinning with Elland.
Saturday 23rd to Saturday 31st MayMembers of the Elland Riorges Association visit Riorges.
This is the Association's annual exchange visit where members stay in the homes of their hosts and experience family life in France. If you would like to join this or future visits, see Elland Riorges Association.
Thursday 29th May to Sunday 1st JuneThe Mayor of Aachen|External link has been invited to Halifax for an official Civic visit.
Friday 30th MayEuropean Neighbours' Day.
This annual event is organised by Action Halifax with help from the whole community. Representatives from Calderdale's town twinning associations will be there to answer your questions.
Saturday 28th June to Sunday 6th July

Calderdale Strakonice Twinning Association welcome visitors from Strakonice and Blatna.

A group of visitors from the Czech Republic will spend the week in Calderdale staying in the homes of their hosts.

Tuesday 15th to Friday 25th JulyYoung people from Riorges visit Elland.
Every year a group of young people come from Riorges to spend a week or two staying in the homes of their exchange partners. If you would like to invite a visitor from Riorges to stay in your home, or take part in future visits please contact the Elland Riorges Association.
Saturday 19th to 26th JulyHalifax Aachen Society visit to Aachen.
Places are still available on this visit. You will be made very welcome in the home of a friendly German family and you will be able to participate in the programme of events organised for this week. The price is currently £185 per person, but this may go down as more places are taken. Travel will be by coach, which will be available for the duration of the stay.
Monday 22nd September

The Hebden Bridge and District International Group will be holding a meeting in Hebden Royd Council Chambers about an International Christmas Market which will take place in St Pol from 13th to 21st December. Residents, local artists and local gift producers and manufacturers are all invited to participate. Starts at 8p.m.

The Hebden Bridge and District International Group will be holding an afternoon cream tea event to raise funds for their extensive programme planned for the next couple of years. Starts at 2.30p.m.

Monday 13th OctoberThe Annual General Meeting of the Hebden Bridge and District International Group will take place at the White Lion Hotel, Hebden Bridge. Starts at 8p.m.
October 2008 half term

Young people's exchange visit to Riorges.
A group of young people from Calderdale will be travelling to Riorges to spend their half term staying with French families. The exact dates will be confirmed soon. There are still spaces available and new members are always welcome to join in this annual visit organised by the Elland Riorges Association.

Approximately 50 people from Roncq will be visiting Todmorden.

Wednesday 29th OctoberAt the Halifax Aachen Society's October meeting, Fred Butler will talk about "Down the Ginnel". The meeting will be held at The Maurice Jagger Centre, Winding Road, Halifax, starting at 7.30p.m.
Friday 31st October to Monday 3rd NovemberTodmorden Town Twinning Association will host a visit from their twin town Roncq, France.
Wednesday 26th NovemberAt the Halifax Aachen Society's November meeting at the Maurice Jagger Centre, Winding Road, Halifax, the speaker will be Chris Helm, talking about "All in a Day's Work". Starts at 7.30p.m.
Friday 21st November to Tuesday 23rd DecemberChristmas Market in Aachen, Germany.
Saturday 13th December to Sunday 21st December

Christmas Market and art exhibition in St Pol, Hebden Bridge's twin town in France. Locally produced goods and artworks are wanted for this event. There will be a trip to St Pol for anyone who is interested in visiting the market.
