| Friday 21st March | Annual Dinner Dance, organised by the Calderdale Mayo Twin Links Society . An evening of Irish entertainment at Berties Banqueting Rooms in Elland. Tickets cost £30, with profits going to local charities, including Overgate Hospice. |
| Saturday 22nd to Saturday 29th March | Brighouse Luedenscheid Society visit to Luedenscheid. 15 members of the Society will be spending Easter with their hosts in Luedenscheid. To find out how to join them on future visits see Brighouse Luedenscheid Society. |
| Thursday 1st May | Charlesmagne Prize| The International Charlesmagne Prize Award of Aachen is a citizen's prize for services to European unity. Representatives of the Halifax Aachen Society attend this annual event which takes place on Ascension Day. |
| Wednesday 7th to Sunday 11th May | Warstein and St Pol visit to Hebden Bridge. The Hebden Bridge and District International Group will be hosting visitors from Warstein and St Pol. The theme of the programme will based on the history of textiles and related immigration in the area. |
| Friday 23rd to Saturday 31st May | Bramsche celebrates its 30th anniversary of twinning with Todmorden. Todmorden Town Twinning Association will be taking a group of young musicians from Calderdale to perform in a joint concert with youngsters from Bramsche and its Polish twin town of Biscupiec. The programme of events for the week will include civic receptions from the Mayors of Bramsche and Osnabruck and a series of workshops to help their new Polish friends build their own town twinning association. |
| Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th May | Riorges celebrates its 30th anniversary of twinning with Elland. |
| Saturday 23rd to Saturday 31st May | Members of the Elland Riorges Association visit Riorges. This is the Association's annual exchange visit where members stay in the homes of their hosts and experience family life in France. If you would like to join this or future visits, see Elland Riorges Association. |
| Thursday 29th May to Sunday 1st June | The Mayor of Aachen| |
| Friday 30th May | European Neighbours' Day. This annual event is organised by Action Halifax with help from the whole community. Representatives from Calderdale's town twinning associations will be there to answer your questions. |
| Saturday 28th June to Sunday 6th July | Calderdale Strakonice Twinning Association welcome visitors from Strakonice and Blatna. A group of visitors from the Czech Republic will spend the week in Calderdale staying in the homes of their hosts. |
| Tuesday 15th to Friday 25th July | Young people from Riorges visit Elland. Every year a group of young people come from Riorges to spend a week or two staying in the homes of their exchange partners. If you would like to invite a visitor from Riorges to stay in your home, or take part in future visits please contact the Elland Riorges Association. |
| Saturday 19th to 26th July | Halifax Aachen Society visit to Aachen. Places are still available on this visit. You will be made very welcome in the home of a friendly German family and you will be able to participate in the programme of events organised for this week. The price is currently £185 per person, but this may go down as more places are taken. Travel will be by coach, which will be available for the duration of the stay. |
| Monday 22nd September | The Hebden Bridge and District International Group will be holding a meeting in Hebden Royd Council Chambers about an International Christmas Market which will take place in St Pol from 13th to 21st December. Residents, local artists and local gift producers and manufacturers are all invited to participate. | Sunday 5th October | The Hebden Bridge and District International Group will be holding an afternoon cream tea event to raise funds for their extensive programme planned for the next couple of years. Starts at 2.30p.m. Contact Philip Dean on 01422 882567 for more information. |
| Monday 13th October | The Annual General Meeting of the Hebden Bridge and District International Group will take place at the White Lion Hotel, Hebden Bridge. Starts at 8p.m. |
| October 2008 half term | Young people's exchange visit to Riorges. Approximately 50 people from Roncq will be visiting Todmorden. |
| Wednesday 29th October | At the Halifax Aachen Society's October meeting, Fred Butler will talk about "Down the Ginnel". The meeting will be held at The Maurice Jagger Centre, Winding Road, Halifax, starting at 7.30p.m. |
| Friday 31st October to Monday 3rd November | Todmorden Town Twinning Association will host a visit from their twin town Roncq, France. |
| Wednesday 26th November | At the Halifax Aachen Society's November meeting at the Maurice Jagger Centre, Winding Road, Halifax, the speaker will be Chris Helm, talking about "All in a Day's Work". Starts at 7.30p.m. |
| Friday 21st November to Tuesday 23rd December | Christmas Market in Aachen, Germany. |
| Saturday 13th December to Sunday 21st December | Christmas Market and art exhibition in St Pol, Hebden Bridge's twin town in France. Locally produced goods and artworks are wanted for this event.
