Walking ideas
Try to think of ways to build more walking in to your daily routine.
Here are some ideas:
- Walk the children to school or park further away from the school - walking is good for them too!
- Park & Stride: If you have to drive to work, park further away and walk the rest of the journey. It's cheaper to park further away from the centre. If you live within 1 to 2 miles of your work place, walk it - it should only take about 20 - 40 minutes. Find other residents from your local area to walk with - it's a great way to get to know new people.
- Use the stairs instead of lifts or escalators
- Walk to talk to someone at work rather than using the phone or e-mail.
