Activities for children and adults with disabilities
Activity and Community Development are aware of a need for sporting and leisure opportunities for disabled people.
There are a number of opportunities that exist to help satisfy this need.
Saturday Sports Zone, North Bridge Leisure Centre
For disabled young people aged 6-16 years on Saturdays at North Bridge Leisure Centre, Halifax. The session involves a variety of sport activities and games appropriate to individual abilities.
- Saturdays Group 1: 09:00am to 10:30am
- Saturdays Group 2: 10:30am to 12:00pm
Cost: £2.00 (£0.95 Passport to Leisure) per person.

Sports Zone, Ravenscliffe
For disabled young people aged 6-16 years on Wednesdays at Ravenscliffe High School. The session involves a variety of sport activities and games appropriate to individual abilities.
- Wednesdays 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm
Cost: £2.00 (£0.95 Passport to Leisure) per person
16+ Sports Club, North Bridge Leisure Centre
For disabled adults (16+) on Saturdays at North Bridge Leisure Centre, Halifax. Activities include gym sessions, football coaching and specialist sports hall activities
- Saturday 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm
Cost: £2.00 (£0.95 Passport to Leisure) per person.

Athletics
For young people from mainstream and special schools, an opportunity to compete in regional and national events as part of Calderdale Secondary School Disport Athletics Squad. Several members of the squad also train with the Halifax Harriers Athletics Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Spring Hall, Huddersfield Road, Halifax.
