Summer of fun in the Pool!

swimming children

Calderdale is proud to announce we will be running Summer Intensive Learn to Swim Courses at our pools. We intend to provide quality instruction in small size classes designed for children to learn to swim quicker.

We will also be running a variety of other Summer sessions so children will have all the tips, skills and instruction to stay safe around water and have fun.

Please note the fun swims will run with:

Diving boards and Floats on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (1.45pm - 3.00pm).

Tuesdays and Thursdays (1.45pm - 3.00pm) will run with the Inflatable and Floats.

Saturday and Sunday (1.00pm - 2.15pm) will run with the Inflatable and Floats,

These are for sessions throughout the Summer 2015 shool holidays.

PoolView System in the Main Pool

As part of our commitment to customer safety a PoolView underwater CCTV has been installed in the diving pit at Halifax Swimming Pool.

The system comprises of 4 underwater CCTV cameras. The cameras monitor activity beneath the surface of the water and feed the views directly to a screen on the lifeguard chair. This allows lifeguards to quickly detect anyone in difficulty in the diving pit, even if they are at the bottom of the pool.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is in use throughout Calderdale and a code of practice ensures that data protection principles are complied with.
