Monday 4th and 18th June
Walk it together: Ovenden Health walk

Meet Mike Barnett outside Beechwood Medical Centre, Keighley Road, Ovenden at 1pm for a walk around Ovenden. Routes vary depending on ability of those taking part but will be between 1 and 4 miles long and will often visit Beechwood Park and Shroggs Park.

Some routes are accessible with push chairs and wheelchairs - call the leader to check before attending.

Thursday 7th June
Walk it together: Hebden Water circuit (PLUS Nordic walk)

Meet Alastair Bishop outside Valley Road Group Practice, Hebden Bridge at 10.30am for a 1.5 hour walk around Hebden Water. Two steep gradients, to be taken slowly.

Limited number of Nordic walking poles available to borrow from the leader for people who would like to try their hand at Nordic walking please book 1 week in advance.

Friday 8th June
Wind, Water and Wild Woodland above Wainstalls

Meet Mike Barnett in the car park at Booth Cricket Club (parking courtesy of the Cricket Club) HX2 6TJ (Grid reference: 0L042274 at 10.15am for a 10 mile walk around Cold Edge dams, Ovenden Moor wind farm and Fly Flatts reservoir.

Friday 8th June
Visit our Cragg Vale Brewery!

Meet Jill Liddington from Mytholmroyd Walkers’ Action on the Manchester platform at Mytholmroyd Station at 11.30am for a 6 mile walk up to Spa Bridge, crossing Paper Mill Bridge, and then enjoy the glorious views over picnic lunch (includes visit to Little Valley Brewery for tasting session).

Bus back to Mytholmroyd (bring fare).

Shibden Health walk

Meet a Shibden Ranger outside the cafe at Shibden Hall, Halifax (HX3 6XG) at 1pm for a walk round the park.

All abilities welcome. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Meet Alastair Bishop outside Hebden Bridge Visitor and Canal Centre, Hebden Bridge at 10.30am for a 7 mile walk to Horsehold, Stoodley Pike and Callis Bridge.

Nordic Walking from Shibden to the Beacon

Meet at Shibden Hall, Halifax (outside the cafe) (HX3 6XG) at 1pm to go on a Nordic walk to the Beacon and back.

Wednesday 20th June
Perambulation along the Pennine Way 3

Meet Chris Sutcliffe at 10.30am opposite the Town Hall in Todmorden for a 7 and 3 quarter mile linear walk up hill to join the Pennine Way.

Visiting the iconic Stoodley Pike and following the pathway to Callis Bridge before returning to Todmorden via public transport (don’t forget your passes and/or bus fare).

Wednesday 20th June
The Longest Day - Sunset over Shibden (we hope)

Only for children aged 10+

Meet Alan Greenwood near the entrance to the top car park, Shibden Park, Halifax (HX3 6XG) at 7.30pm for a 3.5 mile walk to watch the sunset over Halifax on the day of the summer solstice.

N.B. Shibden Hall and Park car parks will be closed before the walk ends so you will need to find alternative parking.

Bring a drink and a snack.
