Wellholme Park

Wellholme Park is situated close to the town centre of Brighouse. The park is easy to get to and has free car parking for visitors at the entrance next to the Police station.

Famous for its spectacular floral bedding displays, and its double web net in the play area which stands at over 6m high, Wellholme Park has something for just about everyone.

Why not take a stroll around the park, sit and relax in the surroundings, enjoy a picnic, or explore the natural woodlands and follow the path of Clifton beck that runs through the heart of Wellholme? The newly opened café offers a place to relax in and chat with family and friends over a drink and snack. If you prefer something more energetic, then perhaps enjoy a game of tennis on one of the four courts, or if you are a fan of bowls then Wellholme has two crown greens and one flat bowling green. The flat bowling green is run by a club for partially sighted bowlers and welcomes new members.

An exciting playground with a scramble net, climbing frame, swings and roundabout give hours of enjoyment to our younger visitors. A demanding skate board park is a test for all those who like a spot of boarding and for those who prefer something a little less strenuous then there is a putting green and crazy golf.

Careful planning at Wellholme Park allows recreation and conservation to sit comfortably side by side. Areas of grassland have been left to develop into a more natural environment and positive woodland management is carried out to encourage and sustain wildlife. This also helps to increase diversity, benefiting birds such as Tree Creepers and Herons, and plants such as bluebells and wild garlic.

Wellholme Park is located on the A641 Bradford Road, to the north east of Brighouse town centre.

It is accessible by the Pink Line 548, 549 and by bus numbers 223, 224, 225, X24, X25, 250, 253, 257, 258, 278 and 279 from Halifax, Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield and Leeds bus stations.

It is approximately 5 minutes walk from Brighouse town centre bus station and 10 minutes from the newly reinstated train station. It is also a 5-minute car ride from the M62 motorway.
