Once you have chosen your preferred site, contact our Lettings Assistant on 01422 284423. If your chosen site is self-managed then your details will be passed onto the site secretary who will contact you directly. Should the site of your choice be full then we would be happy to put you on the waiting list and as a plot becomes vacant the person at the top of the list will be contacted. This also applies to self-managed sites. As they hold their own waiting list then it is important that you keep us or the Association updated with any changes in your contact details.

New plot holders will be required to sign an agreement setting out the rules for their tenancy of an allotment. Failure to comply with this agreement can lead to the tenancy being terminated. The agreements may differ on self-managed sites but should comply with the Allotments Act, and clearly set out the rules for the site. None cultivation is the most common reason for an allotment tenancy being terminated. However do not let this deter you from taking on a plot as there are many benefits such as good exercise and good home grown food to take back at the end of the day.

Community Group Allotments

We have a number of community groups who use our allotments. One of these is the Healthy Living Partnership, a group who promote health by being outdoors working on an allotment and producing and eating home grown produce. They meet on Hopwood Lane Allotments on Tuesday afternoons for a general garden group and on Wednesday mornings for a woman's group. If you are interested then please contact the Healthy Living Partnership on 01422 307357.

Calderdale Leisure Gardeners Association

The Calderdale Leisure Gardeners Association holds quarterly meetings at which there is a representative from the council, some councillors, site secretaries from self managed sites and some plot holders from Community Services managed sites.

These meetings are to inform plot holders of the progress on any issues regarding allotments from a national level down to local level. They also give plot holders the opportunity to talk to other plot holders, members and officers of the council or the Leisure Gardeners Secretary on allotment issues. Meetings are held at Manor Heath Nursery every 3 months and if you would like to know the date of the next meeting please contact:
