Set in 90 acres of rolling parkland with a range of attractions including woodland, walks, an orienteering course, children’s rides, miniature railway, pitch and putt and a boating lake, Shibden is the perfect venue for a family day out. How to get there

Shibden Estate is located on the A58 Leeds / Bradford Road (Godley Lane), to the east of Halifax town centre.

Shibden Estate is accessible by bus numbers 681, 682, 548, 549, 509, 534, 227, 508, 226 from the Halifax, Bradford, Brighouse, Huddersfield and Leeds bus stations.

It is approximately 20 minutes walk (uphill) from Halifax town centre bus station and 25 minutes from the train station. It is also a 20-minute car ride from the M62 motorway.

Car parking

From Thursday 21 April 2011, a car parking fee will be introduced at Shibden Park.

The fee will be payable on entry to the park and will be effective from 9am - 6pm daily. This is a temporary fixed rate while the Council consults on a Pay and Display system.

Regular park visitors are able to apply for a season ticket. For more information contact shibden.hall@calderdale.gov.uk. Tickets will be available for purchase at Shibden Hall (01422 352246) and Shibden Mereside (01422 382959).

Blue badge holders will continue to benefit from free parking.
