How do I get to Shibden Hall and Park

As part of the Heritage Lottery funded restoration project we are improving parking facilities, which means that there will be some disruption during the coming months as work is carried out to Shibden Hall's car parks, off Shibden Hall Road.

From the 18th February 2008, we will need to close the entrance and car parks so that this work can be carried out and there will be no access to the hall and park from Shibden Hall Road.

We will be open to visitors during normal opening times and can be reached by entering the main park entrance at the A58 - Godley Lane. Coach drivers please note that this entrance should be approached from Halifax, turning right into the park.

Visitors can reach Shibden Hall from the woodland footpath at the Ranger's Barn, or the new boardwalk at the park entrance, taking you to the restored Lodge and along Lister's Drive to the Hall.

As these are woodland footpaths it may be difficult for some people, so if you need help please contact us on 01422 352246 and where possible we will make arrangements to get you up to the hall. As soon as the paths and drives in the park are completed we shall have the Shibden Land Train on site, which will be available to bring visitors to the hall and around the park.

Work is progressing and we now have an exciting new play area. The miniature railway and pitch and putt concessionaires are continuing to operate throughout the year, and we will have a re-vamped boating facility ready for the coming season.

The new café in the visitor centre is currently being constructed and will be open this summer, and Shibden Hall Tea Room provides drinks, sandwiches and snacks throughout the year.

We hope to maintain access to the hall during this busy period of work, however we may need to use alternative entrances from time to time and apologise for any inconvenience caused over the coming months.
