Saturday Art Club

Fortnightly on Saturday 6 & 20 September, 4 & 18 October, 10.30am - 12.30pm

Fantastic fun for a Saturday morning! While the adults go shopping the children can take part in a fun and creative workshop at Bankfield Museum. The Saturday Art Club is for children aged 8-12 years old. We explore a variety of art and craft activities, using the gallery exhibitions and Museum collections for inspiration.

Gallery Demonstration Days
Saturdays 26 July, 30 August and 27 September

A tapestry weaver will be will be on hand to demonstrate tapestry techniques and talk to visitors about work in the exhibition.
Guided tour of the exhibition 1.30pm.

Summer Fun
Wednesdays 6, 13, 20, 27 August, 10am - 1pm

Solve tricky trails, take part in arts activities and explore the museum, in our summer workshops for families.

Bankfield Museum Summer Craft Fair
Saturday and Sunday 16 & 17 August

Come along to Bankfield Museum’s Summer Craft Fair, featuring a range of contemporary artists from around the region, who will provide a rich variety of unusual and unique gifts, at prices to suit all pockets.

Tapestry Masterclass with Joan Baxter
18 - 22 August 10am - 4pm

An intensive five-day course for those who have already discovered tapestry weaving and want to develop their skills further. The course will consist of one to one and group sessions dealing with subjects such as: finding your voice, presentation and marketing, surviving life as a tapestry weaver, working to commission and career development. Participants will be expected to share, discuss and spend time experimenting with design ideas. The course has inbuilt flexibility to meet individual development needs.

Half Term Fun
Wednesday 29 October, 10am - 12pm and 1 - 3pm

Take part in an art activity and museum trail linked to the current exhibition.
