Statues and monuments

Introduction

Memorials throughout Calderdale are testament to the effects of war on the local population, particularly in the twentieth century. A notable example is the Cenotaph, close to Halifax Parish Church.

Statues commemorating the lives of significant individuals include the once-controversial Prince Albert Statue in Skircoat, Halifax.
