Large print books

Are you an avid reader but because of failing eyesight can no longer read ordinary print?

Calderdale Libraries have a selection of large print books available for you to borrow at all their community and district libraries throughout Calderdale.

Many people find that once they have made the wonderful discovery of large print books, they are able to renew their pleasure in reading.

Not every book published is available in large print, so please ask staff for help if you want a particular title.

New titles are added to stock regularly and all large print books are circulated around Calderdale libraries.

Why not join a Readers' Group?

Akroyd Library Talking Book Readers' Group

This popular group meet to chat over tea and biscuits to talk about the books they have listened to.

The group includes many people who are visually impaired and if required it is possible to be picked up and dropped home by the Access Bus.

This enables lone visually impaired people to access library facilities.
