Online reference resources

Introduction

Calderdale Libraries offer a range of online reference resources, free of charge.

They can all be used from any library or from home, with just 3 exceptions: Ancestry and Find my Past are only available within libraries and Which? is available in those libraries which take the Which? magazine.

What's new in online resources?

• Find my past - a nautical theme!
  1 Million merchant seaman records
  1881 crew lists: 70,475 individuals 1,981 vessels
  1891 crew lists: 70,747 individuals 1,524 vessels
  
  Find my past is available at Central Library on opening days and at Todmorden Library every Wednesday.
  
  
• Ancestry
  Now Available - the Parish Registers of West Yorkshire. Images of Baptisms up to 1910, Marriages up to 1935 and Burials up to 1985 are browsable, and a proportion have searchable indexes.
  
  
• 19th Century Newspapers
  22 titles have been added to 19th Century Newspapers, including 'The Bradford Observer & Halifax, Huddersfield and Keighley Reporter' from the 1840s.
