International Genealogical Index (IGI)

This index is compiled by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. The 1992 index for Yorkshire is available on microfiche. Family Search for the UK and parts of Europe is available on CDROM and, due to its popularity, it is advisable to book.
A database covering many more countries is now available via the Internet.
