Local studies and family history resources
Trade directories
The Local Studies section of the Central Reference Library has a number of trade directories. They list tradesmen and services as well as names of individuals so they are of great value to the genealogist and the local historian. They also contain extensive information on the history, public institutions and major features of each community.
The earliest directory held by the Local Studies library covering areas within Calderdale is 1781 and the latest 1966.
