What is this service?

The People's Network 'Enquire' Service instantly connects you to a librarian who will help you find the answer to any question you have, in real time.

Will I be connected to someone in Calderdale?

Not necessarily - Calderdale Libraries staff the service on a rotational basis, along with colleagues throughout England and Scotland (and after 5pm and on Sundays, the USA).

How do I use the service?

Simply type your question into the bottom box labelled "Your Question/Message", click send and wait to be connected.

As you chat with the librarian, the messages will appear in the top box, but you will continue to type them into the bottom one.

You can click on any URL in the transcript to open a new window containing that web page

To end your session, click X and then OK to confirm. If you would like a transcript of the chat session, after your session has ended, click the e-mail session transcripts link, type your e-mail address in the pop-up box and click OK. The transcript will then be e-mailed to you.
