Mobile libraries
Introduction
Our two new community vehicles provide a quality library service throughout rural Calderdale and also visit residential homes, nursing homes and sheltered housing complexes. Each vehicle is fitted with a wheelchair lift and internal handrails.
The stock consists of a range of materials suitable for everyone:
- fiction and non-fiction books
- large print books
- music tapes
- CDs
- non-fiction videos
- talking books
- reminiscence material
- jigsaws
- information leaflets
- and, of course, books for children.
You can also buy home help stamps.
Staff are always available to help readers choose material or will visit people who are unable to access the mobile library for themselves.
A small selection of community information is carried on the vehicles and other information can be obtained on request. Please ask!
The staff are friendly and helpful and are there to help you, so please ask if you require assistance.
For more information, please telephone 01422 393711.
