Peter Brook: Works from Public Collections
Peter Brook is best known for his Pennine landscape paintings but as well as landscapes, many of Peter Brook's paintings include buildings and people. Industrial buildings such as factories, mills and warehouses feature heavily in his work, as well as street scenes and churches - reminders of a Yorkshire which is changing fast.
Peter is a prolific painter and has many works in public collections. For this exhibition Peter has selected work from Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield collections, bringing many of them together for the first time.
Many of the works are of a large scale and the resulting exhibition is an impressive display reflecting the breadth of Peter's work, from the 1950s to the 1980s.
Come along and see this exciting exhibition in the newly restored and redecorated art gallery.
