Monday 5 September
Ovenden Health Walk

Health walk provided by CREW (Cardiac Rehabilitation rough Exercise and Walking), but open to all.

Meet Mike Barnett outside Beechwood Medical Centre at 1pm for a walk in the Ovenden area.

Routes vary depending on weather and the ability of those taking part but will be between 2 and 5 miles and will often visit Beechwood Park and Shroggs Park.

Four Halls

Meet Chris Sutcliffe at 10.30am in the car park at Bridlestiles, Shelf Hall Park, Shelf for a 6.25 mile walk through fields and farmlands, passing at least 4 historic halls and houses.

Friday 9 September

A Walk over Midgley Moor

Meet Moy Cash outside Midgley Village Shop (the old Coop) at 10am for a 3.75 mile walk to Churn Milk Joan and over Midgley Moor to see the heather in flower.

Saturday 10 September    

Walshaw Dean Circuit

Meet Steve Blacksmith from Halifax Scientific Society at 1030am for 1040am at Blake Dean (wide road below the old chapel) grid reference SD958314 for a 5 mile good stride round the Walshaw Dean Reservoirs above Hardcastle Crags on easy tracks/paths beside the grouse moors.

Last year we saw a Marsh Harrier and countless tiny roads and froglets!

Trees in the Town Centre

Meet Chris Sutcliffe at 930am outside Halifax Town Hall for a 2 hour walk looking at the trees around the Town Centre.

Can you find the London Plane, Italian Alder and Cucumber Tree?

Illingworth Health Walk

Routes vary depending on weather and the ability of those taking part but will be between 2 and 5 miles and will often visit Ogden Water.

Bats in the Belfry

Meet Calderdale Countryside and Woodland staff and member of St John's Church, Coley (between Shelf and Hipperholme) at 730pm to learn more about bats and nocturnal wildlife that live in the local area.

Outdoor session including short walks across fields with gates and stiles.

Torches and warm clothing required.

Brewery, Mills and Railway

A look at the changing face of the mid Hebble valley where industry and transport have been superseded by leisure and residential development.

Cost £3 (all ages).

There's no need to book, just turn up and pay on the day.

Strong shoes needed, some uneven surfaces, and one steep climb.

Walk lasts 2.5 -3 hours.

Meet Iain Cameron from Calderdale Heritage Walks at 215pm at the junction of Brackenbed Lane and Hebble Lane, Wheatley.
