Meet at Heath Rugby Club, West Vale.

Cost: £9 for LDWA members, £10 for others.

Entry fee includes refreshments on-route, hot food at the finish and signed certificate.

The walk to 'Ell and Back' 2016 is a challenging 20.4 mile circular route to walk or run.

There are regular checkpoints, spectacular countryside views and hot food at the end.

The event is organised and run by Elland Round Table volunteers.

Stunning panoramic views over the foothills of the Pennine's, Calderdale Valley and West Yorkshire.

Entry fee includes refreshments en-route, hot food at the finish and a signed certificate.

Ovenden Health Walk

Health walk provided by CREW (Cardiac Rehabilitation rough Exercise and Walking), but open to all.

Meet Mike Barnett outside Beechwood Medical Centre at 1pm for a walk in the Ovenden area.

Routes vary depending on weather and the ability of those taking part but will be between 2 and 5 miles and will often visit Beechwood Park and Shroggs Park.

Some routes are accessible with pushchairs and wheelchairs - call the leader to check before attending.

Meet Christine Cox outside Keighley Road Medical Centre at 1.00pm for a walk in the Illingworth area.

Routes vary depending on weather and the ability of those taking part but will be between 2 and 5 miles and will often visit Ogden Water.

Dark Halifax

This revised walk recalls the severed heads, ghosts, creaking gibbets, strange burials and other peculiarities - like the guilty pig - historically associated with Halifax's ancient centre.

The charge for their walks is £3 (all ages).

There's no need to book, just turn up and pay on the day.

Meet John Billingsley from Calderdale Heritage Walks at 2.15 by the West Gate (i.e. top gate) of Halifax Piece Hall.
