Vehicle permit scheme

Types of permit

Two types of permits are available (for vehicles other than cars, 4x4s or people carriers):

1. Recycling permit

   Unlimited visits valid for 12 months from application. This permit allows the holder to dispose of recyclables at no charge at a chosen HWRS in Calderdale.
   Accepted recyclables:
   
   • Green garden waste
   • Newspapers and magazines
   • Glass bottles and jars
   • Plastic bottles
   • Textiles, clothes and shoes
   • Cardboard
   • Cans and metal including washing machines and dish washers.

2. One off visit permit

   Valid for 1 month only at a specified HWRS (maximum 12 per year). This permit allows the holder to visit a chosen HWRS within one calendar month of issue. Only one visit is allowed per permit. Only items requested on the permit can be disposed off, such as fridges, freezers, furniture and any other household bulky item.
