Fair and Safe Tenancies (FAST)
The FAST Scheme (Fair and Safe Tenancy Scheme) is a voluntary property registration scheme developed by Calderdale Council for private sector landlords and letting's agents. It is initially being offered as a free service, to recognise and reward good practice and encourage responsible landlords in Calderdale to provide good quality private rented accommodation.
Any landlord can apply for membership.

- advice on tackling anti-social behaviour
- health checks on properties.
How to register a property
A property can be registered on the scheme by the landlord completing a FAST application form. Simultaneously, they should complete a 'self assessment' form relating to each property requiring registration.
Once both forms have been received at Doorways the relevant FAST certificate will be sent to the landlord. Each property will be awarded a Star Rating as explained in the Star Rating summary.
Once a property has been registered on the scheme landlords will be able to access further support and advice from Doorways and other Council services.
