Fair and Safe Tenancies (FAST)

The FAST Landlord Registration Scheme is a voluntary property registration scheme developed by Calderdale Council for private sector landlords and lettings agents, initially being offered as a free service, to recognise and reward good practice and encourage responsible landlords in Calderdale.

Any landlord can apply for membership.

The FAST scheme can offer a range of incentives for landlords:

• Tenant Information Pack
• advice on repairs and improvements
• access to list of approved contractors
• energy efficiency advice
• advice on tackling anti-social behaviour
• health checks on properties.

How to register a property

You can apply to register a property by completing an application form:

Once you have returned your registration form you will be sent assessment forms for the property. One form needs to be completed for each property you let. If you have a large number of properties you may be asked to fill out forms for just some of your properties as a representation of your stock.

The Council will make arrangements to inspect the property. You will then be awarded a Star Rating and given a certificate to display in the property.
