Planning application forms

These are the national standard application forms which must be used for the submission of all planning and related applications. Forms, guidance notes and the lists of national and local information requirements are available for download by following the appropriate link.

When submitting an application it is essential that the correct information is submitted with it to enable it to be registered as a valid application. There are national information requirements, which can differ depending on the type of application being submitted. A link to the national requirements can be found on the same page as the application form and guidance notes.

Note

the current application forms require the submission of 1 original set of forms / plans plus 3 copies (4 sets in total) however due to changes in the way that Planning Services' operates, we now only require:

1 original and 1 copy of the application form / letter (2 in total) and 1 set of plans for:

  • Advertisement Consent
  • Householder applications
  • Listed Building Consent for proposals for existing single dwellings
  • Works to protected trees (TPO)
  • Works to trees in a Conservation Area (TCA).

and 1 original and 1 copy of the application form / letter (2 in total) and 2 sets of plans for all other applications.

In addition there are local information requirements. These requirements were revised in December 2010 and a new Local List was published. The Revised 'Local List' indicates where possible in what instances information will be required and provides contact points for clarification.

Because developments will differ in scale, type and location the Government requires the Local Planning Authority to take a proportionate approach to the requirements for information. If you are unsure as to what is required then please Contact Development Control and speak to a Planning Officer for further information or advice prior to submitting an application.

Please note that there are no local information requirements for applications for:
