Advice and support from Housing Services and the Community Safety Team.

Antisocial behaviour and nuisance

Antisocial behaviour is defined as 'behaviour that caused or was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not of the same household'. This may include people drinking in the street, persistent security alarms, noise from neighbours, vandalism or cars parked illegally.

Choice based letting scheme

Community safety

Calderdale Council's approach to achieving the targets set out in the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act.

Home fire safety

Taking simple precautions within the home and fitting a fire alarm can reduce the chances of a home fire. The Fire and Rescue Service will also visit homes to check for potential problems.

Home security

Advice and guidance on securing your home so you feel less vulnerable and reduce the chance of becoming a victim of crime.

Houses in multiple occupation

Notice issued in accordance with paragraph 9, The Licensing and Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation and Other Houses (Miscellaneous Provisions) (England) Regulations 2006, S.I. No.373.

Housing advice

The Homelessness and Housing Advice Service offers free and confidential advice on a range of housing problems.

Housing strategy

The Council produces a Housing Strategy, with information about housing issues and how they will be addressed.

Private sector development

The Private Sector Development Team carries out a wide variety of work developing and implementing new initiatives to improve private sector housing conditions across the Borough.
