Homelessness and prevention
Homelessness prevention strategy
The Homelessness Prevention Strategy 2008-2011 sets out what the Council and a wide range of partners will do to try and tackle homelessness in Calderdale over a three year period. It is the second such strategy to be developed by the Borough since the requirement to publish a homelessness strategy was introduced in 2002.
The strategy contains four key objectives:
- to prevent homelessness by providing appropriate services and initiatives
- to provide support for people when they are vulnerable
- to tackle the wider causes and symptoms of homelessness
- to provide more settled homes.
Each objective is supported by a comprehensive action plan.
