Request a bulky item collection

Recycle versus remove

Much of the bulk waste collected from homes for disposal goes to landfill.

Have you considered whether your unwanted goods may be useful to someone else?

There are several methods of passing your items on:

The Council can arrange for large items of household waste to be collected and disposed of eg. beds, chairs, cookers, sofas, washing machines or carpet.

The general guideline is that if the item is something you would take with you when moving house, we will remove it for a standard charge of £10.

You can apply online for this service:

If you need to dispose of a fridge or freezer, there will be an additional charge.

There is a separate collection service for items classed as 'fixtures and fittings' eg. kitchen units, bathroom suites, fireplaces or any type of DIY waste.

Small amounts of 'soft' garden waste can be collected, besides more bulky waste such as tree branches.
