Request a bulky item collection
A bulky item collection is a service to dispose of larger household items. Items that could be collected include beds, wardrobes, washing machines, fridges, freezers, TVs, tables etc.
Please do not dispose of any needles in your household waste, these should be deposited in a sharps bin, please see Clinical waste for further information.
Recycle versus remove
Much of the bulk waste collected from homes for disposal goes to landfill.

We only collect items that are free-standing and empty of additional contents. No fixtures or fittings, including fitted cupboards, fitted wardrobes, and no building rubble, bathroom/kitchen tiles or plasterboard, etc. will be collected. Fridges and freezers still containing items of food will not be collected.
Garden waste will not be collected on the bulky waste service. For small amounts, please purchase a white bag from any of the Local offices or for large amounts please call Customer First on 01422 288002 to arrange a quote.
Where should I put my items?
All items must be outside your property in an accessible, unlocked location and ready for collection before you place your request and make the payment.
How long will it take?
We aim to collect bulky waste collections within 7 to 10 working days of your order being submitted. Our contractor can come out to your property as soon as 7.00am the next working day, and in some instances they can attend on the same day. The items will be taken within 7 to 10 working days, but if there is nothing out when they arrive, they will not return, and you will have to pay for another collection.
We are currently expecting delays in items being collected from properties and you may be waiting up to 3 weeks for your bulky waste to be removed. Please bear this in mind when you are requesting a bulky collection.
Note: Before you fill in and submit an online request, make sure you have identified all the items you want to dispose of.
Once you have submitted the request form you won't be able to add another item later.
I can't get the items outside. What do I do now?
If you cannot get the items outside, a special bulky item collection from indoors can be arranged.
There is an additional charge for this service.
