The following organisations provide further information about a range of environmental and sustainable initiatives and practices, locally, regionally and nationally.

Yorkshire Forward|
The Regional Development Agency for Yorkshire and the Humber, was created in April 1999 with the mission of revitalising the region's economy by attracting investment and jobs into the region, funding community-based regeneration schemes to ensure opportunities for Yorkshire and the Humber's most deprived areas, increasing the availability of training for the region's workforce and promoting the whole region to the nation.

Yorkshire and Humber Assembly|  
The region's strategic partnership. Acting as the voice of the region, the Assembly works with others to improve the region’s performance and deliver a better quality of life for all.

Government Office for Yorkshire and the Humber|  (GOYH)
Their aim is to make a real difference to businesses, the environment, communities and the people who live and work in the region.

Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)|
The UK Government Department concerned with enabling everyone to live within their environmental means, by reducing greenhouse gases and securing a healthy, resilient, productive and diverse natural environment.

Environment Agency|
The leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales.

Friends of the Earth|
The group  campaigns for solutions to environmental problems. Their website contains a great deal of useful information and inspiring ideas to help you make a difference to your environment.

Greenpeace|
Greenpeace investigates, exposes and confronts environmental abuse around the world, and champions environmentally responsible and socially just solutions, including scientific and technical innovation.

Women's Environmental Network (WEN)|
The network aims to educate, empower and inform women and men who care about the environment. They campaign on the environment and health issues from a female perspective.
