Flooding
Introduction
In heavy rain conditions we work closely with the Environment Agency to monitor and respond to highway drainage problems guided by the following Environment Agency flood warning system:
- Flood Alert = Flooding possible, be aware
- Flood Warning = Flooding expected, act now
- Severe Flood Warning = Severe flooding expected and danger to life

Sirens are installed to warn of flooding across the Upper Calder Valley.
