Major Projects
The Major Projects team is tasked with co-ordinating and managing the delivery of major regeneration projects in Calderdale. A key objective of the team is to ensure project deadlines and targets are achieved against criteria of cost, quality and time.
The work includes:-
- Advice at the conceptual stage of a new project
- Due Diligence – including physical, legal and financial
- Viability and Feasibility assessments
- Option appraisals
- Communication and Consultation
- Advising and reporting to Members, Project Boards, Stakeholders and Officers
- Procurement of consultants and advisors
- Developer and scheme selection
- Project Management
- Property disposals including development agreements and acquisitions
- Securing maximum external funding
Schemes are managed and delivered using a multi disciplinary team, tailored towards the objectives of the individual project. This may include a variety of professionally and technically qualified team members but typically comprises property, planning, project management, legal, highways, engineers, finance, architects, building surveyors etc.
The Major Projects team is currently working with the Council’s IT Service to develop an improved web based project information, management and performance system to assist in project delivery.
