Summary

Broad Street Plaza is the largest regeneration project to start on site in Calderdale for many years, providing mixed use development in Halifax Town Centre. The first phase includes a nine screen Vue cinema, multi-storey car park, bars and restaurants including Weatherspoons, Frankie and Benny's, Pizza Express, Nandos, and a Whitbread Premier Inn hotel. The second phase will comprise 42,000 square feet of Grade A office accommodation.

The developers, Gregory Projects (Halifax) Ltd, appointed Marshall Construction as main contractor and work on the first phase began on site in July 2010.

The developer has advised that completion of the main construction contract for the first phase is forecast in Spring 2012, with tenants to then commence fitting out ahead of units opening in Summer 2012.

Yorkshire Forward provided grant assistance with Santander being the main private funder.
